Our Mission Statement is "Learning to Live, Living to Learn." We promote that Statement in all we do. We talk about the Hampstead Way, the expectations, standards and commitment to learning that we value and live by. We encourage our children to take pride in who they are, what they do and how they can serve their Community.

Since 1886 our School has served Ashburton, we look back at a fine history and take pleasure in the reminiscences of the numerous student reunions that are held. In 2011 we look forward to the 125th Reunion held over Easter.

In acknowledging our past we also look to the future.

Property developments are ongoing- the  re-development of Dental Clinic to a classroom space, the renovation of five classrooms and the construction of the new Library and Resource Area are examples of this. In the immediate future we plan for ongoing classroom renovation and the updating of our Hall kitchen.

Our Curriculum lies at the heart of why we are here. Our School has responded to the revised curriculum and National Standards by reflecting on how we teach, where we want our children to be and how we can get them there. There is a determination by all involved with the School that we work to ensure students reach their potentials and go beyond them. Our teachers are provided with quality professional development and opportunities to apply innovations.

Hampstead School is a busy place- you will find varied opportunities for your child, we encourage children to be active, to be motivated and passionate about their education, whether it is playing an instrument, on the sports field or participating in competitions.
