Anzac Day 2015:  The children have had a busy start to Term 2, part of this has been learning about World Wars 1 & 2 and the sacrafice some of our ancestors made so that we can today live with freedom in our society.  In addition to this the children have created some beautiful art works, in particular class wreaths that they laid before the War Memorial at assembly on Friday 24th April.

We were priviledged  to be joined at assembly not only by Parents and Friends of the School, but also Flight Lieutenant Craig Rose from the Air Traing Corp and also Ken and Fergus Butterick  whose Uncle and Great Uncle David Mills taught at Ashburton East School ( now Hampstead School) before going to war, where unfortunately he died as a result of injuries he received in battle in 1915.    Please see attached photos
